Walter Charleton

Walter CharletonWalter Charleton (1619-1707) was an active early member of the Royal Society and also served as President of the Royal College of Physicians. In his religious writ­ings he sought diligently to find divine purpose in every act of nature. He defended the Biblical miracles, as well as creation and the flood.
