Grand Canyon: legal battleground?

Two days ago Dr. Andrew A. Snelling, of Answers in Genesis USA, sued the U.S. Interior Department. He accuses them, and more particularly the National Park Service, of abridging his Constitutional rights. Specifically, he sought to study key features of the Grand Canyon. And the Park Service will not let him. The case arises from a plain case of scientific obscurantism. But this time the evolutionists, not any creationists, are obscuring the facts. Continue reading

Dinosaurs, aliens, and the Flood

Two hundred years ago, modern humans rediscovered a class of animals that dwarfed all other animals they knew. Those who found their remains, called these animals dinosaurs – literally, terrible lizards. Conventional origins scientists believe a single event, 65 million years ago, extinguished the dinosaurs forever. They also believe this happened long before humankind appeared on earth. Continue reading

Appeal to whose authority?

Christendom, and the world generally, face a crisis. People must now decide whose authority will govern their thinking. This applies equally to how they live to how they think they came to be. And not only they but all of life, this Earth, and our universe. Continue reading

Evolution’s liberal defenders

Evolution has its defenders. Atheists obviously defend and propound evolution. They wield the “Trident” (uniformitarianism, abiogenesis, and common descent) to skewer Christianity and promote their view of the universe as a giant roulette wheel. Or so they think. But evolution has another class of defenders worse than these. Nominal Christians (and some nominal Jews, also) seek somehow to “reconcile” evolution with what Scripture (literally, what is Written) says about God’s Creative act, and His policies that followed. Continue reading

Answering Pope Francis

Pope Francis kept alive the main tradition of the Roman Catholic Church: compromise. Specifically he offered the familiar compromise between creation and evolution. But what he said will likely please no one. It certainly does not contribute either to good origins science or to good Biblical scholarship. Continue reading

Answering Michael Gungor

Michael Gungor answered his critics yesterday. In Relevant magazine he pleaded for unity of the Church. He also denounced those who called him apostate, blasphemer, heretic, false teacher, etc. over his belief in evolution. But in so denouncing, he left out the most inflammatory words he earlier used. And he failed to address the heart of the matter. He failed to address the sad and sore mistakes he makes in reading the first eleven chapters of Genesis. Continue reading

Michael Gungor: Jesus lied

Again a popular “Christian celebrity” said something outrageous about the Bible and the Christian belief system. Michael Gungor, contemporary Christian music artist, actually says the first eleven chapters of Genesis are poetry, not true narrative. But yesterday a prominent Creation apologist talked back to him. Continue reading

Down’s syndrome & abortion

Atheism gives no moral compass to those who stick to it, and no reason not to allow murder in at least some contexts. If you doubt that, read what Richard Dawkins had to say yesterday about abortion. And specifically in the context of Trisomy 21, also known as Down’s syndrome. Continue reading
