Creator of space and time

As people of faith reflect on the miracle of the Christ child and His resurrection, churches can expect unusually high attendance on Christmas and Easter. However, there are an increasing number of those that believe science has disproved the existence of God, particularly as Creator. They therefore believe those that rely on His precepts and principles are intellectually deficient. Since the increase of this atheistic belief system is directly proportional to the decrease in the quality of life we enjoy here in America, the scientific argument regarding the existence of God is as important a cultural issue as it is a faith issue. Counterpoint to evolution: the Big Bang

This final article in the Counterpoint series will deviate from presenting arguments against what has been published in Pearson/Hall’s Biology textbook and will instead present a few very basic arguments that support the biblical creation account. Before proceeding, it is responsible to state that the counterpoint arguments against what is presented in the textbooks are not represented as being comprehensive. In order to achieve that nearly unachievable goal would require a substantial format capable of expanding ad infinitum, since new evolutionary arguments that are not bound by logic are being invented at an inconceivable rate. It is also necessary to state that the Precambrian explosion of life, as well as the RATE project that were discussed in previous parts of this series, as well as many others (such as thermodynamics) not discussed also provide strong support for the creation argument. Counterpoint to evolution, part 6

As this series is nearing a conclusion, I would be remiss if I didn’t include the “support for evolution” that our children are led to believe is scientifically credible. This article will not continue with counterpoints for the popular Biology textbook published by Pearson/Prentice Hall, but will present counterpoint arguments for the ancillary information our students are directed to on the internet and outside of the textbook. The future and final part of this series will then deal with the most significant proofs for the biblical account of creation. Whether it be the so-called proofs for evolution or the counterpoint proofs for the biblical account, please be aware that only a selected few that are representative of the rest will be discussed, and to respect this format, I will do my best to keep the narrative brief. Counterpoint to evolution, part 5

This commentary on the Biology textbook published by Pearson/Prentice Hall and written by Miller and Levine will continue with an analysis of the “evidences” for evolution that the book presents. The key counterpoint: the “evidences” consist of rock formations and fossils. And these are much younger than supposed. Continue reading

Counterpoint to evolution, part 3

As discussed in Parts 1 and 2 of this series, I will be reviewing the most popular biology textbook in America, Pearson/Prentice Hall, 2006, Biology, written by Kenneth R. Miller and Joseph S. Levine. I am doing so to offer a “counterpoint” to their interpretation of origins, which has been cleverly designed by the authors to mislead students through psychological manipulations, tortured interpretations of the facts, and downright lies. It is my hope that this work will serve as an instrument for parents and church leaders in defending the biblical account of origins that is being assaulted in academia and used as a tool to tear down the students’ trust in the Word of God – and subsequently to challenge their faith in the existence of God Himself. Counterpoint to evolution, part 2

As discussed in Part 1 of this series, it has become my mission to present a counterpoint to what is being taught in high school biology classes in a manner designed to challenge the faith of students. In an effort to accomplish this mission, I will be reviewing the most popular biology book in America, Pearson/Prentice Hall, 2006, Biology, written by Kenneth R. Miller and Joseph S. Levine. Counterpoint to evolution, part 1

After agonizing over the condition of America today, I have realized that many of our problems are attributable to an increasingly godless culture rooted in the teachings of evolution. It is illogical to expect our children to live by God’s moral codes established in Genesis, or that our rights come from God, when they are taught that His creation account is nothing more than a myth. It is also disturbing that the “evidences” for evolution were founded upon fallacious interpretations of observable data and the successful censoring of opposing points of view. Continue reading

Volcanism, impacts, and the Global Flood

Recently I had the privilege of conducting a presentation on the dinosaurs to our church’s children’s Sunday school class. I began with a question: what do you think happened to the dinosaurs? The answer was as I expected: an asteroid strike killed them. This theory is under challenge. As many multidisciplinary studies suggest, the Chicxulub impact (commonly believed to be the asteroid strike responsible for the KT Boundary theory) predates the actual mass extinction record for the area. Yet the theory persists in textbooks. So teachers still teach it in classroomsi nationwide. Interestingly, the studies give rise to a resurgence of the Deccan Volcanism hypothesis. Continue reading

Creation ex nihilo – light

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)

This verse is also scientifically profound and yet astonishingly simple. It begs the question: what came first? Sound waves or radiation waves? We know that waves transfer energy from one place to another.i Sound waves do this as well as radiation waves. The primary difference between the two is that light is polarized and travels transversely, and in most cases sound is not polarized and travels longitudinally.ii Continue reading
